The Connect Process is an interactive, prayer-based process through which people encounter God’s presence and receive personal revelation that brings inner healing. This means that the process involves active participation on their part. Team members partner with Holy Spirit in employing various processes/ “pathways” to help people engage with his presence. They usually spend much of the time listening to both the person and Holy Spirit; asking exploratory and engaging questions, and praying with the person. Their prophetic and other spiritual gifts help them to do this and to confirm the revelation the person receives. It is less about doing something to the person and more about doing something with them and Holy Spirit!
Adults voluntarily seek prayer-ministry and lay counseling and enter into the relationship with team members on a contractual basis. Unlike Love your Life counseling, the Connect Process involves a limited number of sessions (usually about 4 weekly sessions of an hour each) and is facilitated by two team members at a time.
People seeking prayer ministry usually come because of a problem feeling (e.g. depression, anger, anxiety) or behavior (e.g. addiction) they are experiencing in their present. But much of the Connect Process deals with tracing the origins of these in past experiences which have caused people to believe lies (about themselves, God and others) or have caused them to become spiritually oppressed or disempowered.
God’s revelation of truth, facilitated during the Connect Process, reinterprets those experiences and changes thinking and feelings about them. This then creates an opportunity for lasting change and wholeness in the present as people let their behavior reflect this internal shift. During the ministry, they may also experience freedom from spiritual oppression/deliverance and the breaking of controlling ties and vows.
